On 28th November, 2019 Parliamentarians Commission for Human Rights (PCHR) in collaboration with National Parliamentary Task force on SDGs, PJN and UNESCO under the Chairmanship of Honourable MPA Dr. Muhammad Arif, Convener Provincial Parliamentary Task force on SDGs Khyber Pakhtunkhwa organized capacity orientation session for the newly formed working group on “Coordination, reporting and monitoring mechanism on SDG Target 16.10.1 Freedom of Expression and Safety of Journalist” at Committee Room, Provincial Assembly.
During the capacity orientation workshop a large number of parliamentarians (Provincial Parliamentary SDGs Taskforce Members) Special Secretary KP Assembly, Representatives of KP Bar Council, Commissioner Right to Information, Police Department, FIA, Labour Department, UNDP, AAP News, Prosecution Departments, Civil Society, Journalist Unions and other officials were present. Attendance Annex B At the end, parliamentary representatives also signed two resolutions to ensure their commitment for ensuring freedom of expression and journalist safety in Pakistan.
