PCHR urges Government to take action against police atrocities

on students of commercial College Kamalia:

 

ISLAMABD: Chairman Parliamentarians Commission for Human Rights (PCHR) Mr. Riaz Fatyana Member National Assembly (MNA) has strongly condemned police atrocities on the innocent and peaceful students of Commercial College Kamalia in District Toba TAIk Singh, Kamalia, and registering cases against them to protect the police officer from legal action the other day. Mr. Riaz Fatyana said that this was a clear human rights violation case and the government should take prompt action against responsible involved in the said incident to bring them before justice. Said a press release issued here on today by PCHR.

 

He showed his concern on the police brutalities, their immoral behavior, misuse of authority and termed it negation of the existing police ordinance.

 

He stated that Police officials misuse the existing Police Ordinance and under its auspices they bitterly humiliate, disgrace and put violence against the innocent people which were prevailing hatred and distrust among the people against the government. Thus the government should take immediate and prompt action to bring about changes in the existing Police Ordinance to make police accountable to the people and reduce the powers of them.

 

He requested Punjab Government to order judicial inquiry of the sad incident and take prompt action against District police officer Toba Taik Singh Saad Akhtar Barwana, District Superindent of Police Kamalia Rbanawaz Mallah and SHO Muhammad Khalid.

 

He demanded of withdrawal of cases against the innocent student to continue their studies.“Furthermore, the cancellation of bail of DIG and two senior police official by Lahore Bench Division who were involved in the murder of four Judges and five other people, succeeded to break police custody is astonishing and contempt of court,” he added.


He further added that Law and order executing personals should first practice the law to be model for other people. This has imparted bad image of the country on international level and the government should take immediate action to prevent such incident in the future.
