The quake-hit people should be treated psychologically to come out of quake-taruma
Islamabad: A high level delegation of parliamentarians headed by Chairman Parliamentarians Commission for Human Rights Mr. Riaz Fatyan MNA is due to Azad Kashmir in a wake of worst historical quake in the country. The visit of this delegation is unique in type as it is accompanied by psychiatrists from Pakistan Psychological Association (PPA) aiming at to take psychological treatment of the affected people. This was stated by Chairman PCHR Mr. Riaz Fatyan MNA and consultant psychiatrists as well. Briefing the media men of the purpose of this delegation, he said that such types of natural disasters create many disorders in the normal life of inhabitants of affected areas and the trend is particularly dangerous in vulnerable communities like women and children.
Mr. Chairman, after consultation with the other parliamentarians and professionals of Pakistan Psychological Association, has chalked out a strategy for the mental and psychological rehabilitation of the people of disaster-stricken areas. This joint delegation is scheduled to visit on Sunday. During its visit of the affected areas, the delegation will make damage assessment and analyze the ground situation for the establishment of base camps for professional psychiatrists and clinics. These professional psychiatrists will help people to come out of trauma in these field clinics or otherwise refer more serious patients to hospitals in Islamabad and other cities. Mr. Riaz Fatyana MNA added that this step is being taken as the response of the government has been impervious one leaving people largely unattended in this trauma.
