Election Commission of Pakistan should ban excessive wall chalking, hoardings, and banners display, Riaz Fatyana
Islamabad: Former Member National Assembly’s, Ex- Chairman National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Parliamentary Affairs, Chairman Parliamentarians Commission for Human Rights (PCHR) Riaz Fatyana urged Election Commission of Pakistan to strictly ban wall Chalking, hoardings and banners display under existence political crisis and make its existence election Code of Conduct according to the 2002 election, this was stated in a press statement issued by PCHR here on today.
Mr. Riaz Fatyana said that the hoardings, wall chalking and banners display was in conflict with the Punjab Act of Wall Chalking 1992 and the Election Commission of Pakistan should review its policies.
He told that the above activities had increased the cost of middle class politicians and would encourage only rich persons to monopoly the politics.
He further told that the opposite members of political parties destroy and take off banners and hoardings which increase political tensions among them.
He demanded the Election Commission of Pakistan to immediately review its election policy and make it according to the Election Policy of 2002 as that was a successful exercise and enhanced election process at great level.
