On 7th November, 2019 Parliamentarians Commission for Human Rights (PCHR) in collaboration with National Parliamentary Task force on SDGs, PJN and UNESCO under the Chairmanship of Honourable MNA Mr. Riaz Fatyana, Convener National Parliamentary Task force on SDGs organized consultation on “establishing integrated coordination, reporting and monitoring mechanism on SDG Target 16.10.1 Freedom of Expression and Safety of Journalist” at National Assembly Parliamentary SDGs Secretariat Office.
During the consultation Honourable MNAs Ms. Kishwer Zehra, Mr. Sher Ali Arbab, and Ms. Nafeesa Inayat Ullah Khattak also shared their views for ensuring freed of expression in Pakistan as part of constitutional obligation and as sustainable development agenda of Pakistan. Representatives from the Ministry of Information, PTA, FIA, Police, National Police Bureau, Planning Commission SDGs Unit, Ministry of Human Rights, Parliamentary Reporters Association PRA, Press Information Department, and Civil Society were also part of the discussion.
